This webinar will help leaders understand and support the new workforce using the code of ethics for supervisors and exploring how emotional intelligence can help build relationships with incoming employees in a constantly changing diverse labor pool. We will explore the impact of COVID on incoming staff, generational differences and misunderstandings, the importance of self-awareness and positive communication as a leader, and mental health awareness in the workplace. 

Learning Objectives: At the end of this training, participants will be able to...

  • Employ effective strategies to support recent graduates who may have gaps in skills due to the impact of COVID on their education and training. 
  • Identify and accommodate generational differences and misunderstandings in the workplace when supervising and training incoming staff. 
  • Use the code of ethics to model effective leadership and maintain a productive inclusive work environment for all employees to maintain job retention. 
  • List the five characteristics of emotional intelligence to become better communicators and diffuse conflict. 
  • Discuss the importance of mental health awareness in the workplace and what resources are available to support employees as well as leaders.
